Fortune Magazine evaluated what it called “useful amenities like good schools, access to quality health care, community support, and resources for aging residents.” Specifically, they were looking at American hometowns that might best meet the needs of multigenerational families. Fortune analyzed more than 215,000 data points for nearly 2,000 cities and towns across the U.S.

For Leesburg (ranked #8) they said:

“A gateway to Virginia’s wine country, the historic town of Leesburg is home to top-notch schools and senior living.”

Among several factors, they considered were the median sale price for single family residences ($579,148), median household income ($134,124), the high school graduation rate (92%), and the number of quality nursing homes per 100,000 households, within 25 miles (19).
